Phuket - We Resort

Just like 'Wii Resort',  Le Meridian Phuket offered lots of activities, like tennis, mini-golf, archery and scuba diving in the enormous pool.   But it seemd like too much work to try most of them.   Unfortunately no 'chanbara', but Rika and I were able to improvise.

Mainly we took Hannah to swim in the pool, which she happily did for hours.   She is very confident in the water with the water-wings that Kyo-chan gave her for her birthday

Breakfast with dad by the pool.

Every night had a themed buffet and a show.   And after the show the musicians wandered around the other restaurants serenading the guests.

Saturday night 'Siam' buffet highlighting traditional thai music and dance.   I was amazed how many familiar songs are originally from Thailand...

On night Hannah had a fever and lost her appetite.  So we took her to the on-site clinic where the nice doctor prescribed lots of ice-cream to treat her dehydration.

One thing the resort wasn't prepared for was my request for somewhere discreet where I could practice Shakuhachi.   After much consultation they offered to hire me a conference room  - for  $90 per hour !    So instead I found a spot well around the back of the grounds near the water treatment plant and the staff care-park.   I was able to practice every day before eventually being busted by security on the last day.
