Singing in Chinese

Hannah surprised me in the weekend by singing in Mandarin and letting me video her.

I don't know what these tunes are, but I assume they are from the Song dynasty.

New Year Flower Market

On Chinese New Year's eve we visited the famous flower market in Causeway Bay.

"The following are popular floral decorations for the New Year and are available at new year markets.
- Plum Blossom symbolizes luckyness
- Kumquat symbolizes prosperity
- Narcissus symbolizes prosperity
- Bamboo a plant used for any time of year
- Sunflower means to have a good year
- Eggplant a plant to heal all of your sickness
- Chom Mon Plant a plant which gives you tranquility" (Wiki)

As well as flowers there was a festival market selling all sorts of toys and seasonal gifts and decorations.

There was even a booth explaining the chinese claims to the Diaoyu (Senkaku) islands, which spooked Rika a bit.

We bought Hannah a duck balloon which she was very pleased with.

Unfortunately Minimi got jealous of the duck, and assassinated it the next day with a claw to the neck.
