New Year at Ikadaba

For New Years we all went down to visit Atsuko-baba at Ikadaba

This is Hanna on the 'Odoriko' train going to Ikadaba.

Hanna could catch up with the neighbours. This is Otoho-chan and Kanade-chan

She enjoyed playing with uncle Ma-chan and auntie Ya-chan.

And of course we all enjoyed lots of delicious food.

It is traditional to prepare the food for New-Year in advance, so that Mums can relax and don't need to cook. It was delicious.

This is Hannah in front of the traditional New year decoration of Mikan (oranges) mochi (rice cakes), paper and leaves.

Another local tradition is for the youngest person in the house to beat her mother over the head with leeks.

Good job!
